We are looking for an ambitious Project Manager who is passionate about West-China business interactions, and capable of delivering high quality project management service to clients.

  • Support our business development & sales team to secure business from clients 
  • Manage and deliver client assignments to meet agreed deadline efficiently by managing our suppliers and associates to work alongside our in-house team of specialists 
  • Understand the client’s needs accurately and address any problems timely and effectively 
  • Work with other parts of the business to provide best client experience 

Who you are?  

  • Experienced in management consulting, market research, operational management and business development. 
  • Fluent and excellent language skills in English and Chinese Mandarin 
  • Excellent in written communication 
  • Confident, hardworking, and good in handling pressure and multiple deadlines
  • A good decision maker with great attention to detail 
  • A problem-solver 
  • A calm and diplomatic team player 
  • Good at multi-tasking 
  • Comfortable in working in a multi-cultural environment 
  • Have a good grasp of IT in particular MS Point, Word, Excel 
  • Experience in using any project management software will be a bonus 
  • Sector experience in life science, tech, retail, and education will be advantageous 
  • Bachelor’s degree related to business and above                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Working hours 9.00am-5:30pm with flexible working 

Occasional after-hours client responses will be required as part of the work

The support for the future of Oxford is world-wide: 50% of the income comes from overseas. Building on our fundraising success, the University is expanding our overseas fundraising. We are now seeking a Senior Development Manager to support our fundraising work in China. To be successful in this role you will be an experienced fundraiser with an impressive track record in building strong relationships with prospects and donors (in the UK and/or internationally) and in securing significant major gifts at the six or seven figure level. 

  • A graduate or equivalent, you will be tenacious, ambitious and self-reliant and adept at developing excellent relationships with senior University officers, academics and colleagues. 

  • Confident and credible at a senior level, you will be experienced in the identification and cultivation of major prospects. 

  • Your background is likely to be in higher education or the not for profit sectors and you must be able to work well under pressure in a complex, multi-national and culturally diverse environment. 

  • Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential. 
  • Proficiency in Cantonese (writing and reading traditional Chinese) desirable. 

This role will require regular travel to China. Flexible working including working from London will be considered.
