Job brief
We are looking for a Teaching Fellow to teach English as a second language to local Chinese
students who are aiming to study in international schools or abroad. You may also teach other
subjects, for example science and math, or impart life skills, such as presentation skills and
critical thinking, according to your ability/qualification.
A Teaching Fellow is responsible for effective language acquisition, creating personalized
lesson plans along with productive learning environment and assisting us in ensuring students
are well prepared to enter into western education where English is the main teaching medium.
Your role would be teach students to not only learn to love the language but also love to learn
and to educate and instill in them the learning methods found in western education. To be
successful in this role, you should be familiar with teaching Chinese children and learning
culture.
Job Role incudes:
- Provide private instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve language
abilities and academic performance and prepare for entrance exams
- Impart life skills such as critical thinking, study skills, executive functioning,
presentation, research, etc.
- Ensure students learn effectively and achieve their target goals
- Monitor student performance through regular assessments and maintain records of the
assessment results and student progress
- Prepare lesson plans or learning modules for tutoring sessions according to students'
needs and goals
- Promote learning and productivity
- Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage,
motivate, or build confidence in students
- Collaborate closely with Learning Facilitators to determine students’ needs and ensure
student progress
- Communicate students’ progress to Learning Facilitators, Client Facilitators and parents
