2008 is a historic year for China. The spectacular 2008 Beijing Olympic Games were a triumph. This year is also a milestone year for the Chopsticks Club. Over the last 15 years the Club has acted as a cultural bridge bringing professionals from both the Chinese and British communities together.
 
More than 15,000 people have attended over 1,500 Chopsticks Club events promoting understanding of China, its history, culture, arts and business. Many members use the Club for accreditation in continuous professional development and value the network for its undoubted business development opportunities.
 
The Anniversary event, held on 11 September at St Helen's church in the City of London was a highly successful, networking event bringing together many friends of China. 180 guests enjoyed a delicious home-cooked meal prepared by celebrity chef and musician, Guo Yue. At the same time, guests enjoyed superb entertainment including Jing Kun Opera, a recital from the Tao Te Ching, tenor singing of Chinese and Italian opera and a flute performance.
 
Honoured guests included Her Excellency, Ambassador Mme. Fu Ying, who delighted the guests with her candid, poignant and humorous speech.

2008年是中国历史性的一年。壮观的2008北京奥运会取得了圆满成功。这一年多筷子俱乐部来说也是一个里程碑的一年。在过去的十五年里，筷子俱乐部一直扮演着一个文化桥梁的角色，把来自华人和英国社团中的各类任专业人士聚集到了一起。
通过超过一万五千多人次来参加我们所组织的一千五百多次各类活动，大力推广了对中国文化，历史，艺术，商业等的了解。许多会员利用筷子俱乐部可信赖的声誉继续他们的专业发展，并把这个专业人员联系网络视为一个极有价值的拓展他们专业发展的机会。
筷子俱乐部与今年9月11日在圣·海论教堂举办的十一周年庆祝活动取得了圆满的成功，这次活动还吸引了许多来自中国的朋友。180 位与会客人尽情地品尝了由著名美食家、音乐家郭乐 亲手制作的美味可可的菜肴。同时，大家还欣赏了各类精彩的表演，包括：京昆剧，老子道德经诵读，男高音歌唱家唱的中国歌和意大利歌剧曲目，还有中国竹笛表演等。
在活动上，尊敬的中国驻英国大使馆傅莹大使为大家作了一个十分精彩的演讲，她的演讲不带偏见，让人感觉刺激，风趣幽默，让所有与会者们耳目一新，深受大家好评。
