Companies - including Chinese, British and multinational - are finding it increasingly difficult to attract, hire and, importantly, retain employees with China-related skills. Recognising this need, Chopsticks Club's latest and unique initiative was a China-skills Recruitment Fair held on 29 June 2011. This event was kindly sponsored by Shell plc and hosted by Mayer Brown International LLP. For details of this event CLICK HERE for JOB VACANCIES.
This event benefitted HR & senior business development executives from the following:

Sponsors get close to the Ambassador
| The Chopsticks Club is recognised for the value it adds in helping companies to network and promote their China credentials. |
Ambassador Liu Xiaoming was the guest of honour and spoke highly of the Chopsticks Club, its value in promoting dialogue and exchange between Britain and China and how our two countries should find more ways to understand our respective cultures symbolised so clearly through chopsticks and knives and forks.
Our main sponsors were Grant Thornton and Albany China.
Previous joint events with key partners including Chatham House and Schmittzehe & Partners have included panel-led discussions focusing on:
- China's Stimulus Package and the Global Financial Crisis
- China moving up the Value Chain at home and overseas and
- Shifts in Consumption Patterns in China
Panel line up at China's Stimulus Package Event, 03 June
| Panellists included representatives from UKTI, EIU, Department for Business, Skills & Innovation, China Mobile and Oxford University. |
The Club also ran a China-specific Food & Drink industry event in Manchester in December 2009 attended by a variety of firms in the sector based in the North East of England.
