Gasification Service Process Engineer, Beijing, China.  Ref: A24560                                      

Are you interested in gasification and plant operations? You could be a perfect fit at Shell China.
 
Developing your knowledge of the gasification process, you’ll work closely with clients – visiting and working at client sites, particularly during commissioning and start up phases. You’ll assist in identifying the cause of problems, and you’ll assist mechanical teams during boil out. On request, you’ll participate in Site and Factory Acceptance Tests. You’ll also need to provide relevant training to clients, both classroom and simulator based. As well as updating the commissioning instructions, you’ll assist in performance tests, trouble-shooting and a variety of reviews.
 
To join the Group, you’ll need a degree in Process or Chemical Engineering together with proven experience in the process industry. Preferably this would be as a service supplier, giving you a more rounded commercial understanding. You’ll balance strong analytical skills with openness to innovative solutions. You’ll also be able to translate your knowledge into good technical instructions and training. Customer orientated, you must have good communication skills.

Upstream Petroleum Economist, China.  Ref: A25239

If you’re comfortable identifying new business opportunities, you could be a perfect fit at Shell China.
 
Providing support and advice to asset and project teams, your economic evaluations will help us optimize existing projects and provide economic insights into new business opportunities. Helping develop our business plan, you’ll deliver advice that properly reflects projects throughout their lifecycle, including risks and uncertainties. You’ll also be supporting our commercial deals and decision-making processes with the local economic components of the relevant plan requirements, while complying with appropriate models, tools and documentation.
 
You’ll need extensive experience in the energy industry, with demonstrable business sense and commercial acumen. Ideally you’ll also have a good understanding of the upstream business, specifically with a technical and commercial mix. You should also be comfortable with the high degree of flexibility necessary to cope with an uncertain business environment. You’ll have a very good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, and you’ll be a good communicator.

Commercial Advisor, Beijing, China   Ref: A25197

Support our growth in China, and make a name for yourself at Shell.
 
You’ll support the China Commercial Manager and the Commercial Advisor to secure agreements with a range of external parties including national oil companies, gas customers, joint venture partners and other key stakeholders. This will entail leveraging our current assets for maximum value, developing strategies across new and existing projects, and resolving commercial issues including production sharing contracts, licences, government approvals, and agreements. You’ll also provide input to a number of new business opportunities as necessary.
 
Ideally you’ll bring relevant working experience, preferably with both a technical and commercial background. This should include working knowledge of the complexities and risks of Production Sharing Contracts and Gas Sales Agreements, as well as an understanding of regulated businesses and the gas to market value chain. You’ll be skilled at problem solving and negotiations, as you’ll be working with governments, regulators, partners and customers.
